Famed Star Wars Trio Seen In London

The most famous trio in sci-fi filmdom (besides Kirk, Spock and McCoy) have been seen on the streets of London this week. Yes, shooting will finally begin in earnest in May in the UK for the Star Wars VII blockbuster with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford reprising their iconic roles of Luke, Leia and Han Solo.

This next film from the Star Wars universe is being produced by Disney Pictures at London’s Pinewood Studio with George Lucas, the franchise’s creator on board to return as executive producer and consultant. Sitting center seat as director will be Star Trek helmer J.J. Abrams.

Also returning, but not yet seen on the streets of London are Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2D2), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian).

The story is rumored to take place about two decades after the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and lays the foundation for continuing the saga with the offspring of Han and Leia.
